Tech

Films and Fashion

I just came across the most interesting stat ever (ok not ever but in a very long time).

Apparently 70% of men think Sean Connery is the most well dressed British actor in films..! So that got me thinking; Who do you think is the most well dressed person on the big screen? (it doesn’t have to be a British actor).

I can tell you off the top of my head a few who I think are really well dressed; Johnny Depp, Shia LaBeouf, Leo DeCaprio, Colin Firth…although I reserve the right to change my mind..!

What is fascinating is that over the years certain styles remain popular.  Luxury fabrics, good tailoring and matching accessories are always very popular, even in film culture you don’t really see mismatching colours or badly designed menswear being in favour.

The status quo since films began, think Charlie Chaplin (who’s style even now is used for research and one of  my favourite examples of men’s styling) has been for guys to wear almost conservative looking clothes.

It’s only really when you get down to the details do you know the key differences…

Technology and clothes

If you’ve been keeping up with the latest trends you won’t have missed one of Apple’s most remarkable products, the iPod Nano. About 1.5″ x 1.5″ and boasting a multi-touch colour screen, it’s designed to clip on to your clothing. This seems to be a popular trend, integrating technology with clothes, and if done properly with stylish products, in a range of colours to complement any colours you’re wearing, it can be a great and harmonius fusion of tech and cloth. It’s almost a resurgence stemming back from the gentlemanly days of pockwatches and waistcoats. How long before we will start to see more integration between the two and what will be the next evolution.
